Save Our Studio

Last month I went to see the soul/country band Phantom Limb at the Lexington in North London (review here).  As well as tracks from their two studio albums and a couple of choice covers (Little Feat's 'Willin'' and Dave Rawlings' 'Ruby') they played a song called 'Prisoner' which they recorded for a benefit album called 'Save Our Studio'.  The studio in question is The Compound Studio in California and was where Phantom Limb recorded their superb second album The Pines (my thoughts here).

There are 25 tracks (plus two dozen drum loops) for the paltry sum of $11.99 (that's about eight quid in proper money).  As well as Phantom Limb there are exclusive tracks by Neal Casal, Marc Ford, Krista Polvere and Avi Buffalo.  There is honestly not a duff track on there.

It's only available until 28th August so go buy it now from their bandcamp; it will be the best twelve bucks you spend all year.
